Holcomb Station Expansion
In August 2005, Sunflower and Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association announced that an agreement had been signed resulting in Tri-State's purchase of two of the new Holcomb plants. On May 4, 2009 a compromise was struck that would allow one 895-megawatt coal plant to be constructed.
Sunflower has made available the results of an economic impact study that describes the short and long-term benefits that would have resulted from the construction of the original plants. For more information concerning the compromise deal, visit the Holcomb Expansion website.
