Mr. Chaney joined Sunflower in April 1982 as a Control Room Operator during the late stages of construction of Holcomb Station. He advanced within the Operations Department to his present position. His responsibilities include managing the Operations and Coal & Material Handling departments at Holcomb Station.

He began his power generation career in 1974 at a gas and oil-fired municipal plant in Chanute, Kan. His coal-fired experience began in 1979 when he joined Colorado Ute Electric Association in Craig, Colo., as an Equipment Operator during the start-up phase of two 420 MW generating units. During his time at Craig Station, he achieved the skills necessary for a Control Room Operator position.
