Mr. Nelson joined Sunflower in 1989. He began his service as a generation engineer and was recently promoted to Sr. Vice President & Chief Operating Officer in 2008. He has worked with Sunflower's generation expansion task force since May 2001.
Nelson is a graduate of Oklahoma State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in May, 1984. He became a licensed Professional Engineer in February, 1993.Nelson’s experience prior to Sunflower included 5 years with the United States Navy where he served as a commissioned officer.
