Mr. Penrod joined Sunflower
in 1988 as Manager, Engineering. He later served as Senior
Manager, Power Production until being promoted to his
current position in 1992. His responsibilities include
state and federal environmental compliance, permitting,
and reporting requirements for Sunflower’s generation
facilities. He led Sunflower's involvement in a DOE Clean
Coal Technology program award and partnership arrangement
with ADA Environmental Services which resulted in the
selection of Holcomb Station for a full-scale mercury
removal project.
Penrod hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and he is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the National Rural Electric Environmental Association, and the Air and Waste Management Association. |
