Mission Statement

Sunflower's primary mission is to provide an adequate, reliable, long-term power supply to its Member – Owners at the lowest possible cost consistent with sound business practices.

The guiding principle in the development of all policies shall be equitable treatment for all Member – Owners. It is recognized that all Member – Owners do not receive service under the same terms because of pre – existing system conditions. Sunflower is a cooperatively owned corporation, and cooperative philosophy should dominate the formulation of policies. Maximum cooperation among Member – Owners and among Sunflower and its Member – Owners will assure maximum benefits to all.

Sunflower will work with all segments of the electric industry – investor owned, federal, municipal, and cooperatives within the state and in surrounding states-to provide bulk power supply. Sunflower will enter into interconnection agreements whenever possible to make maximum use of existing facilities and resources.
