Mission Statement

Sunflower's primary mission is to provide an adequate, reliable, long-term power supply to its Member-Owners at the lowest possible cost consistent with sound business practices.

The guiding principle in the development of all policies shall be equitable treatment for all Member-Owners. It is recognized that all Member-Owners do not receive service under the same terms because of pre-existing system conditions. Sunflower is a cooperatively owned corporation, and cooperative philosophy should dominate the formulation of policies. Maximum cooperation among Member-Owners and among Sunflower and its Member-Owners will assure maximum benefits to all.

Sunflower will work with all segments of the electric industry: investor owned, federal, municipal, and cooperative--within the state and in surrounding states--to provide bulk power supply. Sunflower will enter into interconnection, exchange, and wheeling agreements whenever possible to make maximum use of existing facilities and resources.
